A visit to Gardens by the Bay in Singapore is to explore a futuristic green space where fauna from across the globe thrives; here are some of its many highlights.
The Supertrees
The iconic Supertrees range from 25 to 50 metres in height and need to be visited in person to fully appreciate their remarkable size. Many of them are at the Supertree Grove; around a 15-minute drive from Park Hotel Farrer Park, this is also where you can enjoy the nightly Garden Rhapsody light and music spectacular.
The Flower Dome
Gardens by the Bay, which is within easy reach of hotels in Little India, Singapore, is also home to the awe-inspiring Flower Dome greenhouse that spans a whopping 1.2 hectares! Inside, one will find a Mediterranean climate and nine different gardens with flowering blooms and exotic plants and trees including baobabs.
The Cloud Forest
Another key attraction is the Cloud Forest, a conservatory that transports you to misty tropical highlands complete with ferns, orchids, pitcher plants and more. A great place to visit day or night, it even features a 30-metre indoor waterfall, while the Treetop Walk, Cloud Walk and enchanting Secret Garden are not to be missed.
Dragonfly & Kingfisher Lakes
Back outdoors, you can head to the Dragonfly & Kingfisher Lakes which can be accessed free of charge. This area has a boardwalk bordering Dragonfly Lake which is a great place to enjoy a stroll; there are QR codes you can scan to learn more about the aquatic ecosystem, while you may spot birds and dragonflies too.
