Being one of the most popular destinations in all of Thailand, Phuket still gets its share of visitors during the rainy season.
James Bond Island
If you are staying at one of the Phuket luxury hotels the likes of Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, you can access the James Bond island easily. This is the first place people usually go to in Phuket, whether it rains or does not. You can go island hopping to the nearby islands too if the weather permits. This would be a fun full-day excursion for you and your loved ones.
Watch the sunset
A beach sunset is always special, but it somehow looks so much more magical just after the rains. The colourful clouds and the stark orange makes for an amazing sunset that you will not forget all your life. This will also be a great sight to get a picture of for your social media feeds or blogs.
Marine creatures
During the monsoon, since the waves come closer than usual, many marine creatures swim closer up to the shore too. You can spot dolphins in the night and a few other creatures too if you keep your eyes on the lookout.
Water sport activities
Most Phuket activities are done in, on or near the water, so the rain will not affect your plans much. You can still choose to go snorkelling, boating, paddle boating, kayaking and more depending on how rough or calm the waters are.
