One of the most tranquil beaches in Sri Lanka, Kallady Beach is bordered by Batticaloa Beach, and it’s only 40 minutes from Pasikuda. Relaxing is the main thing you can do here, but the beach also offers an array of water sports.
Accommodation
The region is home to several accommodation providers, including The Calm Resort & Spa. Seeing as the beach is so closely located to Pasikuda, most tourists choose Pasikuda beach hotels for their stay.
Can you swim here?
Tourists can swim, but it’s not advisable. Waters here get unexpectedly rough, so it’s best not to go swimming at Kallady Beach.
Relaxing
Kallady Beach is ideal for relaxing. You can rent a hammock or lie on the soft golden sand of the beach for a relaxing evening. This beach doesn’t get that crowded, so this is the ideal coastal spot for you if you don’t like crowds and are looking for a quieter/intimate beach experience.
Water sports
While swimming isn’t the most ideal – or the safest – thing to do here, you can enjoy a few other water sports. Diving and snorkeling are among the top things you can do at Kallady Beach. Tourists can get their hotels to arrange excursions for them or get in touch with a travel agent.
Kallady Bridge
The principal highlight of the region, Kallady Bridge is known for its singing fish phenomenon. If you visit between April and September, you will hear music coming from under the water!
