There are many fresh fruit and vegetable stalls along the way, where farmers sell their produce directly to the end consumer. Also make sure to try some of the boiled corn sold along the road side. Getting to Nuwara Eliya will take you to the land of the famous Ceylon tea. Miles of tea bushes stretch and blanket the hills around you, whilst the air gets crisp as you travel further up. If you journey to the town in the early morning hours, you can watch the famous tea pluckers skimming through the bushes and picking only the freshest and greenest leaves.
