Auckland being a busy metropolis, it is quite strange that come Easter, most people in the city begin to pack up and leave either off to the countryside to be with family and friends or off on holiday. If you are going to Auckland at this time, sightseeing and other touristy activities will be easier to manage with fewer crowds. So, here’s what to do during Easter.
Explore the volcanic cones
There are about 48 volcanic cones all around Auckland, still, you will not be able to visit them all in just 4 days. One Tree Hill and Mt Eden are the most famous volcanoes here. Most of these cones also have spiritual significance in the Maori culture which you might like to read up on before your visit.
The Winter Gardens
This is obviously the season for cool weather, not very supportive for the greens, but no matter, because the winter gardens are all about the succulents. Not to mention, the temperature inside this indoor garden is quite toasty and comfortable. The Winter Garden is a short drive away from many an Airport in hotel Auckland.
Whatipu Beach
The beach is not easy to get to, but if you are able to make it there, you won’t be sorry. This beach has beautiful black sand and rocks in all formations. Its got caves to explore as well. A drive through is pretty interesting too.
Royal Easter Show
This is great for a family outing, if you are not sure about the details, ask your local hotel like Naumi Hotel Auckland Airport for more information. Here you will see acrobats perform, carnival rides, Tiki Taane and much more!
