History
The initial foundations of the Tower of London were laid down sometime around 1078 following the Duke of Normandy, William the Conqueror, defeating King Harold at the Battle of Hastings. Following William’s attainment of Kingship, he needed a stronghold to rule a land that was foreign to him, and thus began the story of the Tower of London.
