Phuket is a great destination to visit throughout the year; that said, some periods are better than others depending on what you plan to do.
Whether in General
You can look forward to warm, tropical weather be you at a SHA+ certified resort or one of the luxury villas for sale in Phuket from the likes of Avadina Hills by Anantara. The average temperature is around 22⁰C to 34⁰C and due to the island’s location in the Andaman Sea, it mostly stays safe from tropical storms and typhoons.
The Cool Season
The dry or cool season, from November to February, is the best time to visit Phuket; there’s hardly any rains, plenty of glorious sunshine and calmer seas perfect for water sports including snorkelling and diving. The humidity is relatively low too though since this is the peak season, it’s best to book your accommodation ahead.
The Hot Season
From March to the early part of May, temperatures begin to rise and humidity levels also increase. The weather, in general, is dry though there’s the possibility of occasional and short showers which do bring some relief from the heat. It’s also a great time to experience the celebrations of Songkran, the Thai New Year festival in April.
The Rainy Season
From the latter part of May to October, the southwest monsoon arrives in Phuket. That said, June to August is still a good period to visit; there can be heavy but brief showers, while rates and crowds will be less too. The highest rainfall is in September and October, though between downpours you can enjoy the comforts of luxury resorts!
