Angkor Archaeological Park, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasts around 50 Buddhist and Hindu temples that date back to the 12th century. Most of these ancient structures have collapsed; however, history buffs will be mesmerised by the number of well-preserved stone carvings that can be observed here.
Angkor Wat
Found in Siem Reap, Angkor Wat is the most famous ancient temple site in Cambodia. It is truly an incredible site with its magnificently carved towers rising into the sky.
Ba Yon Temple
Located less than 30 minutes away from FCC Angkor by Avani, Ba Yon Temple is nestled in the middle of Angkor Thom. This temple has around 50 stone towers with intricate carvings of Bodhisatva Avalokiteshwara on most of them.
Ta Prohm Temple
Ta Prohm Temple is a serene monastery that gained recognition after it was featured on “Tomb Raider”. This temple is included in almost every list of Siem Reap attractions. The ruins of this temple are enveloped by massive trees and snaking vines, giving one the feeling of discovering a lost jungle.
Baphuon Temple
Built during the mid-11th century in honour of the Hindu God Shiva, Baphuon Temple had once served as the state temple of Udayadityavarman II.
