This is one of the 3 marine national parks in Sri Lanka. Hikkaduwa is also favoured by tourists due to its close proximity Colombo, the commercial capital of the country where the airport is situated in.
Arugam Bay on the East Coast is world-renowned for being a surfer’s heaven. This gorgeous beach features many surf breaks ideal for both the pro surfers as well as the amateurs. If you wish to surf here, the best time to visit would be the time between April to October.
And finally, Pasikudah, a surreal beach destination situated all the way on the far east coast of the island. This beach is known for its pristine white sands and turquoise shallow waters in which you can wade or swim as far as 200 metres from the shore.
