Luang Prabang is draped on three sides by the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with an incredibly well-preserved townscape that reflects a remarkable fusion of Lao traditional architecture with that of the colonial times. There’s plenty to see and do here while you’re spending your holiday at one of the Luang Prabang hotels.
Day One – Start Your Day with Coffee
Located close to Avani+ Luang Prabang is Saffron Coffee’s Espresso, Brew Bar, & Roastery. Here, coffee is brewed using locally sourced coffee beans. Grab something to eat from their splendid menu, along with coffee, and find a spot to treat your eyes to the river views.
Day One – Temple Tour
Before noon, make sure that you check out the impressive temples of Laos. Some of the best include Wat Mai, Wat Xieng Thong, and the Royal Temple and museum.
Day Two – Climb a Mountain
Get yourself out of bed before the crack of dawn to climb Mount Phousi. You’ll be blissfully rewarded by the sunrise to amazing views of Luang Prabang. Sunset here, unlike the sunrise, is the most popular, making for a crowded experience.
Day Two – Bicycle Tour
Rent a mountain bike from any of the tour operators in the town and embark on your own adventure through the off-the-beaten path while taking in the views of Laos jungles and the Mekong.
