A staggering 3.4 million tourists visited Abu Dhabi’s most ornate place of worship in 2017. Construction started in 1996, and went on for 12 years, covering an area equivalent to four football fields. Tips for visitors
You can enter the mosque free of charge and it opens daily between 9 AM to 10 PM except on Fridays when the opening hours are from 4.30PM to 10 PM. Dressing modestly is a must as this is a site of worship, and shoes must be removed prior to entry so don’t forget your socks! Avoid visiting the mosque during midday as the heat and crowds become unbearable.
