Getting here
This popular viewpoint can be found in the island’s southernmost point and is around a 10 minute drive from Rawai Beach and Nah Harn. Because of the amazing vistas it provides, even planning an excursion here from other parts of the island from properties such as Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas are worth it as well.
More to discover
Before the sunset spectacular you can look to explore the area too; walk down to the end of the cape, visit the nearby lighthouse which has been converted into a museum showcasing maritime artefacts or head to a shrine which has all manner of elephant statues.
The spectacular “show”
Be it from a tourist tour bus or by way of a private transfer from a Phuket luxury hotel, visitors are never in short supply come sunset at Promthep Cape. As evening draws to a close the sight of the setting sun casting its ethereal light on the landscape and the backdrop of the Andaman Sea and close by islands create truly picture-perfect moments.
The perfect end
After taking in the sunset, you can plan to have a meal at the Promthep Restaurant; the refreshing ocean breezes not to mention the breathtaking view of dusk turning into night offer the perfect setting to end your day.
