The perfect vacation is absolutely possible and all you have to do is to make sure that you obsessively plan before you go off on it, or you have an idea what it is that you are “not planning” to do. Here’s a list of 9 items to check off that list.
1. The Region vs. the Time of Year
Pick a region and then pick a time of year. Or pick a time of year and then pick a region. Either way, know ahead whether you are planning for a hot summer or a cosy winter and pack and plan accordingly.
2. Narrow Thy Destination
Once you’ve picked a theme, narrow down your destination to a place in your region of choice. You can go with your gut, or you can do a little research beforehand.
3. The Perfect Measure of Time
All good things come to an end, that’s why they’re good things. So plan the day of your tentative departure.
4. A Countdown Begins
Have a countdown. If you are going with kids, get them involved. The building anticipation will bring a higher emotional payoff.
5. Plan the Practical
Plan the practical as in places to stay. Are you going to be adventurous and pick on of the luxury hotels in Yangon? Are you going to camp your way through a country, or live out of a car? What if you do decide to explore unexplored Myanmar and stay somewhere plush like Sedona Hotel Yangon?
6. Plan the Activities
Plan what you are going to do while you are there. If you aren’t travelling solo incorporate, the likes and dislikes of your travelling partners and yourself.
7. Plan Doing Nothing
Or you could do nothing and just lounge around, it’s your holiday!
8. Leave Your Tech Behind
Scary, yes, but you could leave your technology behind. Travel like it’s the old days and actually see what you are looking at.
9. Finish on a High Note
Leave something huge and fun for last so you finish your trip on a high note. After all, all good things come to an end.
