Pidurutalagala is known as Mount Pedro in English and is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, a little away from the Nuwara Eliya town.
How to get there
You can access Google Maps and it will guide you to reach the destination easily if you are travelling by vehicle. Please note that you require permission to reach the area, and you can drive all the way up to reach the peak. When to visit
Any time of the year is perfect to visit the majestic mountain but obtaining a pass may not be an easy task as it is a high security zone guarded by the army. Make sure to request prior approval or get more details at the entrance so you can learn about the proceedings.
What to see
Pidurutalagala is located in the midst of a forest reserve, and this is one of the main reasons no one is allowed to enter without prior permission. Unlike most mountains, Pidurutalagala is known to have a somewhat flat summit and it is covered with fauna and flora.
What to expect
It is a stunning view from the bottom to the top and even though you cannot trek, the ride in the vehicle is sufficient to take in the stunning view as you reach the summit. At the peak, you are treated to a stunning view of the island that is breath-taking.
