The Entrance is one of New South Wale’s most beautiful destinations and, since the 1800s, regularly attracts thousands of visitors who come seeking serenity amidst her geographical splendour.

Background
The Entrance is situated in Central Coast region of New South Wales and is surrounded by water on all three sides, making it a mini-peninsular of sorts.
The Rise of Pelican Feeding
This happened by accident thanks to the staff of a nearby fish and chip shop, whose scraps when thrown out began attracting flocks of pelicans. If the staff were late in throwing out their scraps, the pelicans would make their way to the shop itself!
Present Day
More than twenty years later, tens of thousands of people arrive at The Entrance to feed large groups of massive birds who are completely unperturbed by the crowds of people. Many Central Coast resorts along the likes of Oaks Waterfront Resort receive quite a bit of business because of this.
The Purpose of Pelican Feeding
Amazingly, the main goal of feeding pelicans at The Entrance is to attend to their health, since many pelicans since they are prone to the harmful effects of pollution and can have hooks and lines tangled up in various parts of their body.
