Overview
Sir Bani Yas Island was a very mysterious place and for a long time, it was on the radar of many historians and archaeologists alike since they believed there was more than what meets the eye in the island. The monastery was believed to be built during 600AD making it one of the world’s oldest Christian monasteries in the world. It has also been found that it was built by a community that consisted of 30 to 40 monks and travellers from India.

Today thousands of tourists visit the since in order to witness the site and it is considered as a timeless and evidence for an early human establishment that associates with religion. It is also worth noting that, during the excavation, the number of artefacts was also recovered.
