The Mulan Heaven Pool is a massive scenic area that spans nearly five thousand hectares. It can be found in the western sector of the Mulan Ecotourism Region and is bordered by Mulan Lake and Mulan Hill. The site boasts over two hundred wonderful landscapes, noted for their serene beauty. For nature lovers and city dwellers craving a change of scenery, this highly picturesque site is a good place to visit. The pleasant surroundings is sure to help one feel relaxed and at peace.
This is not merely a scenic area; it also has some historical significance. It is believed that General Mulan, on her way to the battlefield, stopped here to water her horse. Since the site is located nearly half a kilometre above sea level, it was given the name Mulan Heaven Pool. Highlights here include the Diexue Stream, the Xiaba Pool and the Shangbu Pool. The Mulan Heaven Pool is open from 7 am to 6.30 pm. One has to pay an admission fee to enter, but the scenic area is well worth the small price. The scenic site is situated about sixty kilometres from Wuhan and is only about an hour away by bus.
