One of China’s most significant historical sites, the Mausoleum of Qinshihuang can be easily reached by those finding Xian accommodation in the city. Offering centrally located service apartments Xian, Citadines Xingqing Palace Xi’an is an ideal base from which to explore the region including this ancient mausoleum which is around 30 kms from the city. Constructed under the patronage of the country’s first Emperor, Qinshihuang, the mausoleum dates back to 246 B.C. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was built to resemble a layout similar to that of the city and is where you will find the famous Terracotta Warriors who were believed to accompany and serve the Emperor in the afterlife. These magnificent sculptures which include an entire garrison feature funerary carts and horses as well.
