Anyone who has experienced the metropolitan madness of Thailand for some time will be truly thankful for the presence of Lumpini Park, which is the green lung of Bangkok.
Background
The park was named after Lumbini, Lord Buddha’s birthplace, which is found in Nepal. It was built by King Rama IV during the 1920s, on what was then royal property.
A Multi-Purpose Haven
On a visit to the park, you will find all kinds of people indulging in a bounty of activities. There will be fitness enthusiasts going on their jogs, tai-chi classes being conducted by experts, and couples seated on benches enjoying each other’s company.
Bird Watching
Since Lumpini Park is rich in terms flora, you can find a wide variety of birds throughout the park. Despite being an urban park, more than 30 species of birds can be found here.
Music Festival
There are weekly music events that take place at the park, with major ones being arranged every now and then from world-renowned acts. If you’re staying at one of many places of accommodation situated nearby, such as Anantara Baan Raajprasong Bangkok Serviced Suites, one of many providers of serviced suites in Bangkok, be sure to keep an eye out for events at the park.
