The English proficiency
This society has a low educational level. So, make sure you know at least a few local words such as ‘sabaideebor’ and ‘sabaidee’ to have initial contact with the locals.
The way to dress
Any of the Luang Prabang hotels the likes of Avani+ Luang Prabang will allow you to wear anything you want. But be a little careful when you step outdoors. Don’t wear extremely short dresses when you are in Laos.
No PDA
Laos appreciates the concept of Respect. So, make sure you avoid PDA when you are in public. Refrain from even handshaking when you meet and talk with the locals.
Visiting temples
You have to stake your shoes off when going to a temple. When you are there, you can’t have any physical contact with the monks because it’s highly prohibited. Respect the monks and the sacred Buddha statues, so be careful when you are taking photographs too.
