Piercing the Kuwaiti skyline with its sharp contours and impressive height of 372 metres, the Kuwait Liberation Tower is truly symbolic of its meaning, standing freely and proudly all by itself. This is the second tallest structure in Kuwait and is actually 40 metres taller than the Eiffel Tower having been built as a symbol of Kuwait’s liberation from Iraqi governance.
The tower, since the commencement of its creation in 1990 witnessed the resurgence that Kuwait underwent to taste freedom and likewise the original name of the tower changed from a telecommunication tower to the Liberation Tower as it aptly came to be known. The tower contains three areas basically, a public communication centre, revolving restaurant and observation level. It is indeed a sign of liberation and today serves a variety of commercial and technical purposes attracting visitors up its dizzy heights.
