It was once again time for our annual family getaway where all our family members get together to travel out of the city, away from the monotonous lifestyle of our daily lives. Traveling with four families including ten adults and eight children is not the easiest thing in the world so we decided to keep things simple.
Our annual trip in Sri Lanka is usually towards the coastline, for the simple reason that we have some of the best beaches in the world. There’s no better way to relax on the beach while the kids have a chance to stretch out and enjoy sometime with their cousins. After two weeks of planning and looking for the Kalutara Hotel Sri Lanka that fulfilled all our requirements we finally decided on AVANI Kalutara which was recommended by couple of our acquaintances as well.
We were pleasantly surprised by the hassle free check in and warm welcome by the staff on our arrival. Since our annual trip has been going on for the past fifteen years we’ve had plenty of unpleasant incidents in hotels but Avani made a very good first impression. After enjoying the tangy ambarella and tamarind drinks offered to us we retreated to our rooms to get ready to head to the beach.
One of the best things about the Kalutara beach is that it remains unspoiled. Another good thing about the beach here is that it never gets over crowded even though it is a popular holiday spot for both locals and tourists alike. Sri Lankan beaches never fail to disappoint and Kalutara is no different since it is one of the best in the country to soak up the sun and enjoy some exciting water sports. Our holiday lasted for three nights and it was one of the best I’ve had in a long time surrounded by closest family in one of the best hotels in the south coast of Lanka!
