From Sossusvlei to Spitzkoppe, Namibia is blessed with great scenic locations that are ideal for camping sites. You may see the deserts and sleep under the stars when you are on a camping experience and here are some things to keep in mind when planning one.
Pick a great spot
There are designated campsites in areas like the Etosha National Park, which you may try out for your camping experience. But if you are picking up somewhere else, make sure the camp is not so close to water or dry river beds as it can be risky.
Be ready with your stocks
You may not find shops located close to the campsites you select in Namibia. So, it’s always advisable to stock up whatever is necessary- ie: the medicine, food, fuel, and stuff so that you are in safe hands.
Stay in a hotel every now and then
It’s a fact that there are some great hotels in Namibia. Since camping can be a tiring and difficult experience for those who are not so used to it, it’s anyways better to spend a comfortable night in a hotel to forget your body pains. Hotels such as Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino are there to serve you when it comes to this.
Better to have a satellite phone
When you are having a camping experience, you can’t always rely on your cell phone coverage. To avoid any unexpected inconvenience, it’s better to hire a satellite phone and bring it when you come.
