A well-known historic and tourist site in China, Hua Qing Chi hot springs are famous because of the love story between Tang Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Yuhuan, his concubine. Built during the Western Zhou dynasty, this location will take you right back.
Nine-Dragon Lake
Within the location, there are many sites to visit. One of these is the Nine-Dragon Lake, which covers 530 square metres. The location gets its name from the long Nine-Dragon bridge, which has dragon carvings on it. While only eight are on the bridge, the ninth is said to be under a pavilion by the lake itself.
Imperial Pools
There are five hot spring pools which remain, namely, the Haitang pool, Star pool, Lotus pool, Prince pool and Shangsi pool. It’s said that Emperor Xuanzong’s private pool was the Lotus pool, which resembles a flower. There was no pool at Star pool, so anyone bathing in the night can enjoy watching the stars. If you’re staying at a Xian accommodation, the likes of lyf Dayanta Xi’an, you won’t be too far from this historic location.
Pear Garden
Said to be the most popular imperial theatre in China, the Pear Garden was where the Emperor and his concubine created many dances and tunes. To the west of the Garden, you’ll see the Frost Flying Wall, which was the bedroom of the emperor.
Mount Li
Part of the Hua Qing Pool area, this is famous for the Beacon tower outwork of the Zhou Dynasty, on a mountain. On Mount Li, you can also get to see the Bingjian Pavillion.
