It is situated between 2100 and 2300 meters above sea level and is abundant with a wide variety of plants and animals. Additionally, you may see the end of the world from here. Is the world about to end? It’s only a name, but the view from here is undoubtedly worth it.
The Wonder of the Horton Plains await!
While this may be easily considered one of the most ecstatically stunning places in the island, it should be noted that this no small feat. A typical hike through the plains will at minimum take 3-4 hours so come prepared!
Where are the Horton Plains?
As of 1988, the Horton Plains National Park is a Sri Lankan national park located in the central highlands of the country. Mountain grassland and cloud woodland can be found at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 m filled with endemic creatures.
The journey will be worth it
It certainly feels surreal when you trudge along the rocky path in the morning mist and you stumble upon a Sri Lankan Sambar deer feeding in the lush grass and low clouds.
