Knuckles Mountain Range
This mountain range is located towards the centre of the island and covers about 81 square miles. The 5 most noticeable peaks look like a clenched fist from afar, thus the name “Knuckles”. The locals however call it “Dumbar Kanduvatiya” which translates to mist-covered hills.
Location
Taking a look at the location in detail, this rich reserve is positioned between the Matale and Kandy districts. Kandy is one of the closest cities to this trail and is home to hotels like Hunas Falls Hotel Kandy and many a best hotel in Kandy known for stays on the misty mountains. Other small cities close by include Riverston, Rattota, Rangala and Matale.
