Guiyang, the capital of China’s Guizhou province, is one of the popular tourist destinations. The city is certainly not as extravagant as some of the major cities in China; Guiyang is rich in history and boasts a vibrant culture and indigenous communities. While being one of the cheapest destinations in Guizhou, Guiyang is also known for its amazing natural features, and has gained a reputation as being one of the best places for exploring mountains, rivers, and caves. Amongst the most recommendable hotels in Guiyang within easy reach of the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport would be Anantara Guiyang Resort which is only about 15 minutes away.
Given that there are so many things to do and see in Guiyang, figuring out modes of transport is essential if you want to make the most of your time. But, you don’t have to worry too much as the internal transport within Guiyang is very convenient. The city’s internal transport system covers almost all the areas of Guiyang, so tourists can travel almost anywhere they want to.
When it comes to public transport, buses are the main mode of transport in Guiyang. The network of buses and bus stops is well set in place, and the bus fare is cheap. One drawback, however, is that all directions are almost exclusively in the native language. But if you speak Mandarin or Cantonese it shouldn’t be a problem, or just ask a local to help you out. Taxis are another great way to commute throughout the city because they are freely available in parts of Guiyang. The taxi fare starts from ¥8 for 3km, with an additional ¥1.6 per additional kilometre. Another unique way of getting about is by motorcycle taxi. Motorcycle taxis are fast, cheap and freely available. It must be noted, however, that motorcycle taxis aren’t the safest means of getting about, but if you need to get somewhere quick then it is worth a go. And if all else fails, you can always take to your feet and walk around. The city is beautiful and scenic so there is plenty to look at too!
