Mutrah Souq
Amongst the world’s oldest markets, the Mutrah Souq is a veritable Aladdin’s cave of treasures! This huge covered market which can be reached from Seeb-based hotels in Muscat, Oman, is made up of numerous alleys to explore; you will come across frankincense, perfume oils, antiques, gold jewellery, traditional textiles, carpets, pashminas, great souvenirs and more.
Seeb Souq
Another traditional market, the Seeb Souq is located by the coast and is close to properties like Avani Muscat Hotel. As you wander around the market streets, you can soak up some local culture too; on your adventures, you will not only find shops selling handicrafts, perfumes, traditional clothing and gold jewellery but spices, fresh fruits and food too.
Mall of Muscat
For more modern shopping, head to the Mall of Muscat which caters to fashionistas and families alike! This large mall has more than 240 brands covering not only fashion but electronics, sports and lifestyle products too. It’s also home to Oman’s first Debenhams store, a flagship store of Victoria’s Secret, a LuLu Hypermarket and the Oman Aquarium as well.

Another popular place for shopping, the Muscat Grand Mall features plenty of shops as well as an area that’s like a traditional Arabic souk. There are over 150 shops selling electronic products, clothing, footwear, fashion, toys and cosmetics, while Charles & Keith, Nike, DKNY, Aldo and Skechers are amongst the well-known brands here.
