Kandy, a cultural city surrounded by mountain ranges from all around, is indeed a destination that you must not miss out on when you are in Sri Lanka. Many historical sites await to welcome you!
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
Also known as ‘Sri Dalada Maligawa’, this royal temple can be called the most spiritual attraction in the city. It houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha. So do not forget to visit this temple during your stay at hotels like Earl’s Regency Kandy.
The International Buddhist Museum
Since this is a section of the Temple of the Tooth Relic, you may visit it during the same tour. This museum exhibits the most valuable gifts it has received over the years.
Bahirawakanda Viharaya
It’s a massive Buddha statue located on top of a hill. Once you walk up the stairs and reach the summit, you can view the entire city of Kandy. This is an amazing experience.
British Garrison Cemetery
One of the interesting things to do in Kandy Sri Lanka is visiting the British Garrison Cemetery. You get to explore 163 graves here and all those belong to people who came to Ceylon from Britain during the colonial times.
