In Koh Samui, the mere mention of its beaches conjures up a myriad of vivid impressions. From vibrant party spots to serene havens of tranquillity, the island offers an assortment of coastal wonders tailored to suit every visitor. It epitomizes the idyllic tropical shoreline, beckoning weary souls to escape the clamour and commotion of urban life.
Chaweng Beach
In the largest town of Koh Samui, lies Chaweng Beach. Claimed to be the home of the best beach in Koh Samui, one can’t deny the convenience of accommodation as it lies in the centre of the tourist hotspot where such properties as the Avani+ Samui Resort are less than an hour away, and well as nightlife that springs forth as the sun goes down. While the title of “best beach” may be debatable according to the person, it’s easy to put it on top of the list with all that you can do here.
Silver Beach
While most Koh Samui resorts can boast a good beach, it’s hard to beat the pure white sands and shimmering sapphire water at Silver Beach. Great for sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and all other kinds of water-based activities, the seclusion and beauty that’s offered is a welcome option for any avid beach-goer.
Lipa Noi Beach
The Lipa Noi Beach is a little off the beaten path – however, it’s a great option for the kind of beach you can enjoy with your family, as there are no rocks or dangerous coral, and the water is relatively shallow where kids and adults alike can safely frolic and make memories to their heart’s content. It’s also great for beach walks, where the firm white sands slope into the ocean.
Bophut Beach
Out in the northern areas of Koh Samui are the gentle blue waters of Bophut Beach, where tourists flock for reasons other than the beach – the Bophut fisherman village also makes its home here. A vibrant night market takes place every Monday and Friday, where the barterers of the week along with several souvenir shops ply their goods and trade. Conveniently, one can take a dip if they so desire, before commencing their shopping spree!
