Apart from it being a backpacker’s go-to destination, Khao San Road, or rather, the Khaosan Road is where you’d get to see a collection of everything from bizarre shops to pulsating bars. After sunset, this road in its entirety transforms into a nightclub along its length one kilometre.
Background
“Khao San” can be roughly translated to “Milled Rice.” The street has gained this name due to its former status as a major rice market. Nowadays, it is a street that roars with people from all walks of life and is known to celebrate Thailand’s Water Festival most joyously as it’s possible.

How to Get There
You can use the MRT from Suvarnabhumi Airport to arrive at Sanam Chai Station from where you can hail a taxi to Khao San Road for around 50 Thai Bhat. Expect to reach Khao San Road in just 5 minutes. The road also lies within easy access to many a city hotel in Bangkok.
