There are many ways to explore a new destination: one can choose to fly, take the train from city to city, or travel like a local and opt for a bus or local transport. Once they are at a certain destination, they can choose to take the local bus or walk around the city. Many natural attractions in most places are best explored in this manner: on foot, for it allows them the opportunity to take everything in at their own pace. While hiking and trekking are also always popular options, some tourist destinations have their own ways of promoting tourism by providing different vantage points from which the landscapes can be enjoyed.
For instance, those who visit the small riverside village of Rudesheim am Rhine in Hesse, Germany, a small cable car ride to the top of a hill will provide a stunning birds-eye view of acres and acres of vineyards bordered by the glittering blue waters of the Rhine river. Those who stay at Langkawi hotels also have this added advantage when they visit, for this destination has now installed cable cars.
Known as the Skycab Operation, the cable car service in Langkawi has different opening hours depending on the date. Therefore, it is best to check in advance prior to visiting. Resorts such as Berjaya Makati Hotel would conveniently verify this upon request. During the month of June, the Skycab operates from 1st – 13th, 15th – 20th, 22nd – 24th from 9am to 5pm, while on the 14th and 21st, it operates only for five hours from 12 noon to 5pm. Furthermore, on 25th June it will be open from 10am to 7pm while it will also be operation between 26th – 30th June from 8.30am to 7pm.
The Skycab operation enjoys the distinction of being the Longest Free Span Mono-Cable Car in Malaysia at a length of 950 metres. While the Base Station is found at the foot of the Machincang Mountain, a cable car station conveniently located on the eastern ridges of the Mountain also provides a stunning and panoramic view of the cliffs.
