The Elephant Valley in Chiang Rai Thailand is an ethical elephant sanctuary where the elephant truly comes first! A place of respect, humans are expected only to observe and nothing else. Want to find out more about Elephant Valley in Chiang Rai?
The Inception
In 2007, the people behind Elephant Valley built a sanctuary in Cambodia which has provided the team with over a decade in research and information on how to provide for elephants, mentally and physically. It’s this knowledge that resulted in Elephant Valley being opened.
The Elephants
These magnificent animals at the park are now enjoying their lives after years spent being worked hard in logging industries. They can now finally live a life in which they don’t have to be submissive towards humans. Contact with the elephants is forbidden!
The Difference
Tourists often want to ride an elephant bareback or give it a bath or other activities involving direct human-animal interaction, but this can stress the beautiful creature. At Elephant Valley, visitors will get to experience elephant behaviour that is unlike anywhere else in the world except in the true wild. When looking for an elephant camp in Thailand there are several to be found like Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort for example.
