Overview
Dragon Palace Cave is home to the largest underground waterfall and the longest underground river in China. The attractions are categorised into four parts including the Dragon Palace, the Leech Pass, the Whirlpool, and the Rapeseed Lake.
Location
The Dragon Palace Cave is found in the Matou Township, which is located approximately 32 kilometres away from Guizhou’s Anshun City. It is one of the most famous Guiyang attractions. And a visit here is coveted by many travellers who are holidaying in the area at properties belonging to popular chains such as Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.
What to Expect
This spectacular underground cave system is spread over a massive 60 square kilometres and is made of waterfalls, lakes, stalagmites, and stalactites. The underground river runs for some 5,000 metres in length and tourists can access around 1,000 metres by rowboat.
The Entrance
The entrance to the cave is adorned by the Dragon Gate Fall – the largest of its kind in China. The waterfall is made directly from the lake and crashes down to a pool inside the cave through a crescent-shaped hole.
