Kalahari Foundation decided to establish this reserve back in 1988 to grant a chance for the general public to explore the wildlife in Botswana.
The speciality
The speciality here is that this reserve is located in a very accessible location. Every road here is accessible by 2WD. It’s the 03rd busiest reserve in the country.
The tourism aspect
It’s already a tourist attraction. You find many hotels in Gaborone owned by popular hotel groups such as Avani Hotels & Resorts. Locals also have started business functions around this industry, and they are making profits.
The wildlife in it
Kudus, gemsboks, elands, ostriches, and warthogs are there. In addition to that, there’s also a valuable birdlife that includes hornbills and kingfishers.
The geographic setting
In addition to observation areas, there are also picnic sites located within the boundaries. A visitor-education centre is also available here to educate the guests.
