Toddy
This is a local alcoholic drink made by fermenting the sap of the coconut flower. The drink is made by beating the flower for three days before cutting it allowing the sap to drain, then the toddy tapper will tie a container to collect the sap. Most hotels in the area such as Blue Water Hotel , allow guests to witness the unique sight of toddy tappers in action.
Vinegar
Unlike toddy vinegar is commercially made by large scale producers. This is another product of the coconut sap.
Brooms
Coconut fibre products are one of the major attractions in Wadduwa. Making the most of the natural surroundings, locals make fine brooms for commercial gain. Apart from large scale manufactures, you may also find tiny boutiques selling these products along the beach and beside the road for tourists for greatly reasonable prices.
Carpets
Being another coconut fibre product, carpets mostly handmade are available in abundance in this town. Thus step out of your beach hotel and stroll the neighborhood to find that perfect carpet to present your mother back home.
