It was along the coastal plains of southern and central Vietnam that the Champa Kingdom otherwise known as the Cham Dynasty was located during the AD 192 and 1832. There are many upscale hotels around this attraction which provide comfortable accommodation amongst which AVANI Hotels & Resorts offers a wide range of contemporary hotels known for its elegance and star class accommodation.
The Champa Kihngdom was established in the region of Hue as a result of a rebellion against Chinese authority in AD 192 controlling the lands between Hue and the Mekong Delta. However it was in 1471 that the Chams was defeated at the hands of Vietnamese and eventually dissolved completely at the hands of the emperor Ming Mang. However, remnants still stand in the form of damaged complexes, reminding the world of the many glories past.
The most remarkable examples of Cham architecture still stands in central Vietnam, the most prominent one being the My Son complex which was heavily damaged by US bombing during the Vietnam War. The Binh Thuan province is yet another area where several relics can be seen scattered across the board including the Cham Royal family’s heritage collection in Phan Thanh. West of Phan Rang stands the Po Klong Garai Tower with a complex of a sanctuary, a repository and a small gate tower dating back to the 13th century.
