Located in the central coast region of New Southwales region, The Brisbane Water National Park is a vast and expansive national wildlife reserve. The park features some of the most beautiful and spectacular landscapes of Australia’s and is home to some of the rarest and most treasured animals and plants of the nation.
The Biodiversity
The park is rich in biodiversity. The reserve is home to many endangered plants and animal species; these include some of the country’s most loved marsupials such as wallabies and Kangaroos. The park is also home to over 150 species of birds. Sadly, even though these creatures are protected, they still face constant threats from humans. It is our responsibility to visit these places and enjoy nature without harming it.
The ‘walks’ and other attractions
The Park includes many footpaths that give you a tranquil walking experience. These paths sometimes can be rugged but the experience and the views you can get through these works are worth your while. Other than this you can venture beyond the trail to explore the wildlife and some places in the park offer picnic spots that are equipped with barbeque grills and tables. You can also spend the night in the park as there are many good spots to set a camp.
Things to remember
As mentioned earlier the park is a protected reserve and harming any of the animals and nature is a punishable offence and smoking here is strictly prohibited. And if you are about to go for a trekking it is important that you inform the reserves management as they will provide you guidance and importantly a tracker to ensure that you can be located in case of an emergency. Always make sure you carry the necessary gear and wear appropriate clothing and remember safety must be always your first priority.
Accommodations and getting there
The reserve is located 47 kilometers North of Sydney, and some of the regions of the park can be easy via public transport as it is located close to the Pacific Highway and the region surrounding east park of the park is slightly populated and you can find some good hotels here like the Oaks Waterfront Resort and some other central coast resorts as well.
