Beruwala is a scenic seaside village in the Kalutara district on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, some 50 kilometres from Colombo. The beaches here are some of the most beautiful on the island! Here are some of the things you might need to know if you’re heading there.
Getting there
Trains, buses, and car taxis are all options for getting to Beruwala. Because there are only a few trains that stop at Beruwala, be cautious when selecting trains. So, the preferable choice is to travel the Colombo-Galle A2 road by bus or automobile, which will get you to Beruwala in less than 2 hours.
Accommodation
Beruwala has been a popular tourist spot for many years now which means you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation. You can choose from luxury Bentota hotels such as the likes of Cinnamon Bey Beruwala to cute seaside bungalows.
Things to do
Beruwala beaches, like many beach vacation locations, provide a variety of water activities, both motorized and non-powered, under the safe supervision of lifeguards. You may also snorkel in the reef-protected coral gardens off the coast.
Best Season to visit
The months of January through March are the finest months to visit the Beruwala coastal city and its tourist attractions since it is summer in the region, with a nice environment, less rain, and bright days. The rainy season in the region lasts from April to December, which is not ideal for a beach vacation due to the downpours.
