The avenue of stars being a part of the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade was located along the 400-meter long bridge section on the northern side of the Victoria harbor. The Avenue has been constructed to show respect and as a tribute to the deceased and living movie stars of the Hong Kong film industry.

The avenue of stars is based on Hollywood’s Walk of fame celebrates the movie stars of Hong Kong film industry. Placed in the promenade, are Plaques that are laid in tribute to the stars, the total number of plaques today is 101 that has grown from 73.
History
The Avenue of Stars was built as a part of the promenade along the waterfront around the New World Centre of the Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon in the year of 2004 along with the renovation project with a spending of HK$40 million and was open to the general public on 28th of April 2004.
Attractions
The main attractions of the avenue are statues and handprints of famous stars of the Chinese film industry and the exclusive views of the cityscape and the sunsets.
Renovation
Unfortunately, the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui is closed for renovation, and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 but a selection of the Avenue of Stars exhibits is displayed at Garden of Stars and can be viewed by the public. The garden is located close to the Dorsett Wanchai Hong Kong – A well renowned Hong Kong Hotel.
