While the Petronas Twin Towers may no longer hold the record for being the world’s tallest building, it’s no less impressive and remains amongst the best attractions in Kuala Lumpur to visit.
Planning Your Visit
This iconic structure is in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre area known as KLCC. Those staying at KL serviced apartments here including properties like Ascott Star KLCC Kuala Lumpur can easily walk to the towers which are open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. You can also reach it by taxi or use public transport such as the LRT (Kelana Jaya Line) to get to the nearby KLCC Station. At the site, you will also find attractions like the Suria KLCC mall, Aquaria KLCC and KLCC Park so you can spend a whole day here!
A Modern Marvel
Reaching a height of 451.9 metres, the Petronas Twin Towers span 88-storeys and is an awe-inspiring sight to photograph both during the day and at night. The design of this structure by renowned architect, Cesar Pelli, has been influenced by Islamic principles, while the interiors feature elements that are inspired by traditional local handicrafts, hardwood carvings and weaving.
Skybridge
A significant design element is the Skybridge on levels 41 and 42 that connects both the towers; on your visit, you can head to this structure which happens to be the highest two-storey bridge in the world! Positioned at a height of 170 metres and a little over 58 metres in length, it offers a convenient link between the two structures and provides some fantastic views.
Observation Deck
Of course, for the best panoramas of the city, nothing beats the observation deck at Petronas Twin Towers on level 86, providing a stunning vantage point that’s 370 metres above the ground! You can also make use of a telescope for more in-depth views, while there are other things to do here too; you can learn more about the towers via interactive AR screens and check out scale models of the city as well.
