Tissa Maha Dagoba
This temple was built by King Kavantissa in the 3rd century BC. It is one of the most sacred places for the Buddhist devotees to visit as it shelters the sacred tooth and the forehead bone of Lord Buddha.
Galkanumandiya
When exploring Tissamaharama you will come across an area with ruins of stone pillars. This place is called Galkanumandiya and is thought to have been some sort of monastery at the time.
