The soon-to-be-opened SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is set to become one of the best family attractions in the UAE and here’s more on what you should know about it.
When & Where
The opening of this site is set for some time in 2023 as scheduled; before you visit, check the official website (https://www.seaworldabudhabi.com/) for updated information regarding this. It will be located on Yas Island within easy reach of city properties like Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel; this popular island also happens to be where you can find attractions such as Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World and Yas Waterworld to name a few!
What to Expect
For those at city-based 5 star hotels, Abu Dhabi family adventures to this site will be truly unforgettable; after all, it will be the largest marine-life aquarium on the planet! It will be home to diverse marine life from around the world and feature six distinct marine habitats all linked to the “One Ocean” concept. When exploring SeaWorld, you look forward to immersive experiences and state-of-the-art technologies to learn more about how this “one ocean” is intrinsically linked to life on earth.
Some Highlights
Once open, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is expected to be home to over 150 species of marine life; such an expansive attraction is said to require over 58 million litres of water! Apart from schools of fish from around the globe, visitors can expect to see manta rays, sharks and turtles; what’s more, it will also feature various invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles and even bird species ranging from penguins to flamingos. Another key highlight will be a towering 20-metre-tall vertical window called “Endless Vista” which will provide views of an underwater world across multiple levels.
Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue
Already operational is Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue which is located beside SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and interestingly, it’s the first of its kind in the UAE. An integral part of the attraction, this centre is focused on assisting regional as well as global marine conservation efforts. Amongst its key goals will be to rescue orphaned, injured or sick marine life in the region and provide the needed rehabilitation before returning such creatures to their homes.
