The Chobe National Park is located in Northern Botswana and is one of the best such places in all of Africa. To know more about this place, read on.
About the national park
The Chobe National Park is home to the biggest concentration of animals in Africa. This is also the park that has the second most elephants living here. The one with the highest is right behind this place and is the Hwange NP in Zimbabwe. There are many hotels in Gaborone Botswana for you to stay at, and to stay closer to the park, opt for places like Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino.
The safari options
There are many kinds of safaris you can choose from at this park. You can go for a five-day safari drive or a week-long drive, depending on what kind of adventure you want to have. You can also rent a vehicle and go on a self-driving tour. This tour goes through the Moremi Game Reserve and into the Chobe reserve area.
The game drive
The main game drive begins any time from 6 am to 7 am and it comes with a stop for breakfast and coffee too. On this excursion, you will spot lions, elephants, and other large animals living in the reserve. The river is where most of the animals come together for their daily water runs.
Other things to do
You can start off with Kasane and choose from the many things to do at the park. A game drive, a river cruise and a day trip to nearby Victoria falls are other things you can do after you are done exploring the reserve area.
