One of the most spectacular attractions in Malaysia, the Langkawi SkyBridge is a must-visit site and here’s a quick guide with all the essential information you need to know.
Planning Your Visit
To reach the SkyBridge, you will first have to take the Langkawi SkyCab from Oriental Village which can be found at the base of the Machinchang Mountain Range. It’s on the island’s west coast and within a 25-minute drive from properties like Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi which makes an ideal base for your holiday. Check the official website for online ticket booking (https://booking.panoramalangkawi.com/) including for SkyCab rides.
Journeying in the SkyCab
Part of the adventure of getting to the SkyBridge is making the journey to the top of Machinchang Mountain on the SkyCab cable car. When looking for the best resort in Langkawi for family fun, choose one that’s near the Base Station in Oriental Village. From here, the SkyCab will provide a breathtaking ride amidst stunning mountain vistas as you travel to the Middle Station located 650 metres above sea level and which has viewing platforms too. You next head to the Top Station to enjoy access to the SkyBridge.
Reaching the SkyBridge
The Top Station of SkyCab is located at 708 metres above sea level and from there, one can reach the SkyBridge on foot amidst a jungle trail; alternatively, if you find the walk too challenging, you can take the SkyGlide which offers easy access in an automated cabin-type elevator.
Be prepared to be amazed once you reach the SkyBridge which spans an impressive distance of 125 metres; one of the longest curve suspension bridges on the planet, this structure lies across two mountain peaks and provides fantastic views of the verdant valley below and the ocean beyond. You can also expect panoramic vistas of the islands of Langkawi and even a glimpse of Southern Thailand.
Other Highlights
There are plenty of other things to do on your visit as well. You can enjoy enthralling shows featuring 3D image projections at the SkyDome, a 3D film with 4D effects at SkyRex and more immersive experiences at 6D Cinemotion and VR Universal. You can also have a meal with a view at SkyBistro which enjoys a 700-metre-high vantage point, while back down on the ground at the Oriental Village, you can visit the Selfie Museum too!
