The Location
This attraction is in the locale known as Little India; it’s easily accessible from the Little India MRT Station as well as the Farrer Park MRT Station where you will also find Park Hotel Farrer Park. Housed in a two-storey building, the centre is open from 6:30am to 9:00pm; ideally, visit the wet market early in the day.
Wet Market
The bustling wet market, within easy reach of hotels in Little India, Singapore, is the ideal place to soak up the local culture. You will come across vendors selling all manner of fresh veggies and fruits, the latter of which you can sample then and there! You also get fresh seafood and meats, spices, flowers, rice and more.
Hawker Centre
On the same floor, is one of the most well-known hawker centres in Singapore, perfect for foodie adventures! Many of the food stalls offer Indian specialities be it biryani, roti prata, tandoori chicken, masala dosa or chicken tikka; you get other local dishes too from char kway teow to ayam buah keluak.
Shopping Fun
Once you’ve had your fill, head up to the second floor and enjoy a local shopping experience. You will find shops selling stylish sarees and other typically Indian attire like kurtas and salwars as well as jewellery, footwear, gifts and souvenirs. There are also tailors here for quick alterations or custom-made attire.
