While towering skyscrapers and bustling streets are common sights when exploring Hong Kong, you will also come across areas of serenity and greenery; Kowloon Park is just such a haven!
Planning a Visit
This picturesque site can be found in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, within easy reach of Nathan Road. Around a 10-minute walk from Park Hotel Hong Kong, the park can also be reached by foot from the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station. No entrance fee is charged and opening times are from 5:00am to midnight.
What to Find Here
While you won’t find huge wide-open lawns, Kowloon Park does have grassy spots, benches to sit back and relax and paths for a leisurely stroll. Well worth a visit from budget or 4 star hotels in Hong Kong, the site has Chinese gardens and a pagoda, a maze and a sheltered walkway too.
Fun for the Family
The kids are bound to love cooling off in the outdoor pool at the park which also has two playgrounds including one with turrets and canons. Visitors of all ages will be fascinated by the bird lake with its pink flamingos, an aviary and the sculptures and bronze handprints at the Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars.
Other Highlights
The Kowloon Mosque and the Hong Kong Heritage and Discovery Centre are amongst the attractions to be found here. The park has a central piazza where one can witness live performances or events, while those visiting on Sunday afternoons can even catch dragon dances and martial arts demonstrations!
