There’s much to discover on a visit to Singapore and it always helps to be prepared; these are some things to keep in mind when planning a holiday here.
City Locales
When looking for accommodation at hotels in Singapore, consider what you want to see and do and find a central area to be based in. Options around Marina Square will offer convenience, while locales such as Orchard Road, Chinatown, the Singapore River and the Civic District have their own unique allures too.
Plan an Itinerary
For some shopping, Orchard Road and Marina Square directly connected to Pan Pacific Singapore are ideal. You also get theme park thrills at Sentosa Island, exotic wildlife at the Singapore Zoo, cultural insights at the Asian Civilizations Museum, natural wonders at Gardens by the Bay and fun nightlife at Clarke Quay!
Transport Options
The Mass Rapid Transit or MRT offers an easy way to get about as does the city’s economical bus service; consider getting the Singapore Tourist Pass with unlimited travel options for both. You can hail taxis from the road or use a ride-hailing app like Grab, while there are cycling paths for pedal-powered sightseeing too.
To Keep in Mind
The average day time temperature is around 88°F (31°C); it can suddenly rain, but it will generally be brief. The standard electrical current in the country is 220/240 volts (50 Hz) and appliances from North America will usually need a suitable adaptor / converter. English is widely spoken so communication will not be an issue on your travels.
