Ravana Falls
Linked to a legend from the Ramayana, the Ravana Falls spans a height of around 25 metres and is a popular natural attraction, featured on sites like Ella Sri Lanka. The falls, which is near the famous Ravana Ella Cave, has three tiers and during the rainy months, the gushing waters are a sight to behold.
Kithal Ella
A waterfall that’s within easy reach of the town, Kithal Ella is an ideal place to visit on your way or coming back from Ella Rock, well-known amongst hikers. Visiting this waterfall which reaches 23metres in height, is amongst the captivating things to do in Ella; apart from enjoying the view, you can also have a cooling dip here!
Ella Wala Falls
Though the height of this waterfall is relatively small (about four metres), Ella Wala Falls nevertheless offers a quite picturesque sight amidst the jungles. Getting to this falls involves a short trek and you can also look forward to a refreshing swim in the natural pool beneath, caused by the flowing water.
Diyaluma Falls
While Diyaluma Falls is around an hour from Ella, the sight of the water descending from a height of 220 metres will make the journey worth it! This waterfall which is linked with local folklore and the sad tale of a king’s lost love offers stunning vistas from the top and features natural pools to enjoy as well.
