Out of the bush appeared Bhuta Ijo, a fierce and revered spirit, who handed the priest a box and requested him to safeguard the box. Dang Hyang Dwijendra went back to the people and told them about his encounter with the spirit and the people and the priest constructed a shrine for the mysterious box. Over the years the shrine grew into a magnificent temple reflecting the Hindu culture.
